Ordinance 233: Admission of Land

An ordinance declaring the admission of a section of land situated in the Township of Darlington, and lying adjacent to the Borough of Darlington, County of Beaver and State of Pennsylvania to become a part of said Borough.

Whereas, the free-hold owner of the territory proposed to be annexed, described in Section 1 of the Ordinance lying adjacent to the Borough of Darlington petitioned the Town Council of the Borough of Darlington to declare by ordinance the admission of the same into the Borough of Darlington.

Therefore, be it enacted and ordained by the Town Council of the Borough of Darlington, County of Beaver and State of Pennsylvania, and it is hereby enacted and ordained by authority of the same.

Sec. 1. That the following described land be, and it is hereby annexed to and shall become a part of the Borough of Darlington, to wit:

a) Beginning at a point which is the northwestern comer of the Borough of Darlington in the center line of a road leading from Darlington to Enon; thence by a line which would be a production of the northern line of the Borough of Darlington westward to the line dividing lands of G. W. Martin; thence by the last mentioned dividing line in a general southeast, westward and southwardly direction to a point ninety-seven and thirty-five hundredths (97.35) feet northwardly of the northern line of Third Street in the Borough of Darlington if said northern line were produced westward; thence still by the line dividing lands of Fiske and Company from lands of said Martin and dividing lands of Fiske and Company from lands of Dunlap Estate westward and south westward to a point fifty (50) feet eastwardly from a forty (40) foot street reservation lying between lands of Fiske and Company and lands of Nicely; thence southwardly by a line which is fifty (50) feet eastwardly from and parallel to said forty (40) foot street reservation to the northern right of way line of the Pittsburgh, Lisbon and Western Railroad; and thence by said right of way line eastwardly to the western line of the Borough of Darlington, to the place of

Sec. 2. Whenever this ordinance shall have been duly enacted and published, as required by law, it shall be the duty of the proper officers of the Borough of Darlington to file in the Court of Quarter Sessions of the Peace of the County of Beaver a certified copy of this ordinance, together with description and plot showing the courses and distances of the boundaries of the Borough before and after the annexation. Notice of such annexation and the filing of the same in the office of the Clerk of the Court of Quarter Sessions of the Peace of the County of Beaver shall be filed in the office of the County Commissioners of Beaver County, which said section of land, shall, after the filing of the map as aforesaid, be admitted as part of said Borough, and subject to its jurisdiction and government.

Sec. 3. All ordinances or parts of ordinances inconsistent with the provisions of this ordinance be, and the same are hereby repealed.
