Ordinance #271: 1954 Regulating Use of Streets with Metallic Lugs

An Ordinance of the Borough of Darlington regulating the use of streets by prohibiting the use of tractors or other vehicles with metallic lugs, and providing penalties for violation thereof.

Pursuant to the authority to regulate streets contained in the Borough Code, the Town Council of the Borough of Darlington does hereby enact and ordain as follows:

Sec. 1. After the enactment of this Ordinance, it shall be unlawful for any person, firm, partnership, or corporation to use operate or drive tractors or any other vehicles which make use of metallic lugs, or which have metallic lugs which come in contact with the surface of the highway on any street within the Borough of Darlington.

Sec. 2. Any person violating the terms of this Ordinance shall be subject to a fine of not less than Ten ($10.00) Dollars nor more than One Hundred ($100.00) Dollars for each violation of the Ordinance, and it is further provided that this Ordinance shall be enforced in the manner set forth in the Borough Code.

 

(      Sec. 3. All ordinances or parts of prior ordinances inconsistent herewith are hereby repealed to the extent that they are inconsistent with this Ordinance.

 

Enacted and ordained by the Town Council of the Borough of Darlington this 13th day of August, 1954.
