An ordinance of the Borough of Darlington, Beaver County, Pennsylvania providing for weight limits on certain Borough streets; providing for the erection and maintenance of official signs with respect thereto and providing penalties for violation thereof.
The Town Council of the Borough of Darlington, Beaver County, Pennsylvania, does here by enact and ordain as follows:
Sec. 1. That the Borough does hereby prohibit the operation of motor vehicles, trailers or semi-trailers having gross weight on all Borough streets within the said Borough of Darling ton with the exception of that part of Third Street between Morris Street and Market Street.
Sec. 2. The maximum weight of vehicle and load passing upon or over any Borough street within the Borough of Darlington, except that part of Third Street extending between Morris Street and Market Street, is hereby limited to twenty (20) tons gross weight.
Sec. 3. That in accordance with the provisions of the Vehicle Code there shall be erected and maintained official signs designating the aforesaid maximum weight limit at the end of the streets affected thereby and at intersections thereof, and it is further provided that the proper Borough official shall forthwith promptly erect such official signs in compliance with the provision of the Vehicle Code.
Sec. 4. Any person violating any of the provisions of the Ordinance shall upon summary conviction before a magistrate be sentenced to pay a fine of $50.00 and cost of prosecution and in default of the payment thereof, shall undergo imprisonment for not more than ten (10) days.
Sec. 5. All ordinances or parts of ordinance heretofore adopted are hereby repealed inso far as they are inconsistent with the terms of the Ordinance.
